New Mexico 197 (New Mexico) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A white shield framed in black, carrying a red Zia sun and the route number 197 in black numerals.

Visual Elements & Composition

White fills the centre of the design and gives the sun room to stand out. The red Zia sun is the strongest colour and sits on a circular white field, with the numerals 197 set in black beside it. A black square border closes the shape, so the sign reads as a single, contained marker. Black, white and red are the only colours, and the flat shapes keep the composition simple and easy to read.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Zia sun is sacred to the Zia Pueblo, where it represents the sun and the four directions, and it has come to stand for New Mexico as a whole. It appears on the state flag and on the state's route markers. Route 197 is a rural state road of about 31.8 miles that runs from the Sandoval-McKinley county line north to the town of Cuba, where it meets U.S. Route 550. The sign therefore links a quiet stretch of the state's roads to an emblem with deep roots in the region.

Shaped for the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the shield is seen at arm's length and from above as the glass is lifted. The red sun sits in the middle of the view and is the first mark the eye takes in. The bold black border keeps the marker crisp against the glass, which makes it a fitting pick for a collection of New Mexico road-sign barware.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
