New Mexico 23 1932 (New Mexico) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A recreation of an early-1930s New Mexico state road marker, with the Zia sun at its centre on a golden yellow field.

Visual Elements & Composition

Golden yellow covers most of the design, with red and black used for the lettering and the sun, and a little white for contrast. The composition is built around a circular badge: a smaller central circle holds the Zia sun, and the words STATE and ROAD sit above and below it. The large 23 and the abbreviation N. M. give the marker its route identity. Everything is laid out flat and symmetrically, so the sign reads quickly from a distance.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Zia sun comes from the Zia Pueblo, and its four groups of rays stand for the four directions, the four seasons, the four periods of the day and the four ages of life, all joined by a circle. New Mexico adopted the red-and-yellow scheme for its markers in this period so that the signs could be seen easily. The route itself ran through high desert country that is now largely part of tribal route systems, which gives the marker its place in Southwestern history.

Holding the Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the central sun is the detail that comes into view first as the glass is lifted. The bold yellow field carries the eye outward to the route number, a clear and quick read at close range.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
