New Mexico 478 1952 (New Mexico) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A white state road marker with a red Zia sun at its centre and the route number 478 set in bold black beneath it, drawn in the flat, graphic style of mid-century New Mexico signage.

Visual Elements & Composition

White is the dominant colour, covering about half the surface. The red Zia symbol sits in a circular badge at the heart of the layout, with concentric rings framing it. Black lettering carries the words STATE and ROAD and the numerals 478, while N. and M. complete the state marking. The composition is centred and symmetrical, and the three colours are kept to flat fills with no shading.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Zia sun symbol is one of New Mexico's most recognisable emblems. It appears on the state flag and on the state's road markers, and its four groups of rays are associated with the sun, the four directions and the Zia Pueblo, whose people are its source. Route 478 is a state highway in Doña Ana County, running from Anthony to Las Cruces, and it formed part of the earlier routing of US 80 and US 85 before those roads were realigned. The 1952 reference in the title points to the vintage road-sign style the design borrows from.

Fitted to the Shot Glass

At 1.5oz, a shot glass is small enough to hold in one hand and look into at close range. The bold black numerals and the single red badge read clearly from that distance, and the circular badge suits the round rim and the curve of the glass.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
