New Mexico 65 1932 (New Mexico) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This shot glass takes the form of an early state route shield for New Mexico 65, with a red Zia sun, a black numeral and a yellow ground typical of the 1930s.

Visual Elements & Composition

Yellow is the main colour, carrying most of the circular badge. Red is used for the Zia sun and black for the numeral and lettering. The sun sits at the centre of the badge with the numeral 65 placed within it, and the words STATE and ROAD with the initials N.M. follow the outer edge. The surface is flat and graphic, with no gradients or shadows, which matches the plain manufacturing of the original signs.

Meaning & Symbolism

New Mexico began placing numbered State Road signs in December 1926, and these shields were built as traffic control devices to identify routes for drivers. The 65 marks this route within the state network. The Zia sun is drawn from the Zia Pueblo, where the number four is sacred, representing the four directions, the four seasons and the four stages of life. The sun is also the symbol at the heart of the state flag, so the sign joins a plain route number to a symbol of the state's identity.

On the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the badge is read up close, with the numeral and sun seen first and the lettering following at the rim. The circular shield suits the round shape of the glass, and the yellow ground makes the marker stand out on a shelf or in a row of souvenirs.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
