New Mexico 789 1952 (New Mexico) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A white state road marker carrying a red Zia sun and the route number 789, a design that recalls a New Mexico highway shield from the early 1950s.

Visual Elements & Composition

White covers about half of the surface and gives the sign its clean, open look. The red Zia symbol, built from circular rings of red lines, is the focal point, set against a black field of lettering. The words STATE and ROAD frame the top and bottom, the numerals 789 sit at the centre in heavy black, and N. and M. mark the state. Everything is laid out on a single centred axis in flat, unshaded colour.

Meaning & Symbolism

The Zia sun is the emblem of New Mexico and appears on the state flag. Its rays are traditionally read as the four directions and the sun, and the symbol belongs to the Zia Pueblo people, who are its source. Route 789 belongs to a short chapter of American road history. It was one of the numbers proposed for a Canada-to-Mexico highway that was never approved as a U.S. route, and in New Mexico it ran alongside U.S. 66 and U.S. 666 on shared pavement. The state stopped using the 789 designation by the mid-1960s, which is why signs from the route are rare.

Built for a Small Glass

A 1.5oz shot glass is held close and studied at short range. The large black numerals and the red Zia read at a glance, and the round emblem follows the curve of the glass, so the design holds its shape from every side.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
