Old Texas 28 (Texas) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A black-and-white star badge frames the numeral 28, with the word TEXAS set beneath it in flat vector lettering.

Visual Elements & Composition

The design is organised inside a circular badge, with a five-pointed star filling the circle. The numeral 28 is placed at the centre of the star and dominates the piece. TEXAS sits low in the badge as a secondary line. Only black and white appear, black covering around a third of the surface, and each shape is a flat vector form. The layout is balanced and centred, so the number and the state name read in order without competing.

Meaning & Symbolism

The route behind the number is State Highway 28, one of the original 1917 Texas highways, which ran through South Texas from Beeville toward Houston. Much of that corridor was later absorbed into U.S. routes, and the designation itself disappeared from the state map by the 1930s. The star and numeral together commemorate that early era of state-numbered roads, when a route number was one of the first signs a traveller saw. The result is a nostalgic piece of Texas road history.

A Shot Glass for a Forgotten Route

A shot glass is small and held close, so the badge is seen at arm's length as the glass is raised. The round motif wraps the compact body of the glass, and the numeral stays clear when the glass is set back on the bar. It is a fitting pour for anyone who likes a little road history with their drink.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
