Old Texas blank (Texas) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design is a bare Texas state highway marker from the 1920s to 1940s, drawn with its route number left out.

Visual Elements & Composition

A solid black silhouette of the state of Texas sits centred on a white square, so the outline does all the work. Nothing competes with it. The graphic is flat and high-contrast, with no shading or gradients, which makes the shape read clearly even at the small scale of a shot glass. There is no number or lettering inside the outline, leaving an open field where a route designation would normally be printed.

Meaning & Symbolism

In a working highway shield, the Texas outline marks a numbered road. Here the number is missing on purpose. Highway historians and collectors call this unlabelled form the "Old Texas Blank", and it was used in manuals, sign-shop templates and illustrations before a route was assigned to a particular stretch of road. It does not stand for any single highway such as SH 1 or SH 21. It records the style of early twentieth-century road signage in its most basic form.

Held Close in the Hand

A 1.5oz shot glass is small enough to hold between finger and thumb, so the black outline sits right at eye level when the glass is raised. The white square reads as a clean panel against the glass. The shape is simple enough to be seen in one glance at the bar or on a shelf.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
