Overschie Wapen Shot Glass Design

This shot glass showcases the historic coat of arms (wapen) of Overschie, a former municipality in the Netherlands, now part of Rotterdam. The design is a vibrant representation of the area's rich history and heritage.

Design Breakdown

The coat of arms is bisected vertically. The left side is further divided horizontally, displaying a complex arrangement of colors and shapes.

The dexter (left) side is split into two horizontal sections. The upper section is silver (argent), while the lower is green (vert). Across the line separating these two colors runs a striking red (gules) zig-zag pattern, also known as a "coupé de pily". This section symbolizes the "heerlijkheid" (manorial jurisdiction) of Hogenban, which merged with Overschie in the 17th century.

The sinister (right) side features a silver (argent) background upon which is a red (gules) castle or tower. This element represents the former castle or stronghold of Rodenrijs, a significant historical structure located within the Overschie area during the Middle Ages.

Symbolism

The overall design reflects the merging of two jurisdictions, Overschie and Hogenban. The red zig-zag represents Hogenban, while the castle represents the village of Overschie and its connection to Rodenrijs.

The colors themselves – silver (white), green, and red – also play a role and are also featured in the local flag, further connecting the design to the identity of Overschie.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
