Seal of the Government-General of Warsaw - Frosted Pint Glass 16oz

This design reproduces a historical administrative seal from the German occupation of Warsaw, a crowned eagle in navy and cream inside a scalloped circular border.

Visual Elements & Composition

Navy blue covers just over half of the seal and cream makes up most of the remainder. The layout is circular, with a scalloped edge and a ring of lettering around the outside. The crowned eagle with spread wings sits at the centre, with a six-point star below it. The inscription reads Kais. Deutsches General-Gouvernement Warschau, with the words Kais., Deutsches, General-, Gouvernement and Warschau visible in the ring. The style is flat and formal, with no decorative flourishes.

Meaning & Symbolism

The seal belonged to the Government-General of Warsaw, the administration Imperial Germany set up while it occupied Russian-ruled Poland. It was used between 1915 and 1918, during the First World War. The crowned eagle stood for German imperial authority, and the German inscription marked the territory as governed by the German Empire. For historians of occupied territories and the visual language of the Great War, the seal is a direct record of how an occupying regime presented its authority.

Wrapped Around a Pint

A pint glass has a tall, curved body, so the circular seal wraps around the glass and the eagle stays upright at eye level when the glass is lifted. The frosted surface softens the navy and cream into a semi-translucent tone, and the scalloped ring of lettering reads most clearly against the light.

Frosted pint glass (16 oz / ≈0.47 L) with a soft matte finish and semi-translucent, one-sided print. Tough enough for bar and restaurant use, dishwasher safe, and BPA-free — a modern take on classic pintware.

These pints are mouth-blown-style glass finished with a satin frost that mutes glare and gives art a soft, tactile presence. The print sits atop the frosted surface to create a semi-see-through effect — the look subtly shifts depending on lighting and what's poured inside.

Because the print is slightly translucent, pale drinks let more light through and darker pours create stronger contrast. That interplay gives each serving a small visual surprise — useful in hospitality settings or retail displays where the drink and the glass play off each other.

  • Material: 100% glass with a matte, frosted finish for a low-reflective, premium feel.
  • Capacity: 16 oz (standard U.S. pint, ≈0.47 L).
  • Print: one-sided wraparound, semi-translucent finish that changes with light and liquid.
  • Care: dishwasher-safe for everyday service (see Care tab for tips).
  • Use cases: retail shelves, bar service, event glassware, or merch racks — suitable for single units or larger orders.

These glasses work well for chilled beers, craft pours, iced cocktails and cold brew — anywhere you want an elegant, understated presentation. The frosted surface hides minor fingerprints and softens the silhouette of the drink inside.

  1. Serve: fill with cold beverages; the semi-translucent print will interact with the drink color for subtle variation.
  2. Display: stack or line them on back bar shelving where soft lighting emphasizes the frosted texture.
  3. Stocking: sell individually or as a set; their neutral look fits many menu styles and venue aesthetics.

Tip: if you plan themed pours (pale ales, lagers, dark stouts), test a sample to see how each drink’s hue changes the printed artwork’s visibility.

Dishwasher-safe for routine cleaning — use a standard household cycle and avoid very high-heat commercial programs when possible. Placing glasses mouth-down on the rack reduces risk of chipping during wash cycles.

For best longevity, hand-wash with warm water and mild detergent and dry immediately with a lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive scouring pads and harsh chemical cleaners that can dull the frosted finish or wear printed areas over time.
