Soyuz MS-09 is a crewed spacecraft that serves as part of the Soyuz Space Programme, operated by Roscosmos, the Russian federal space agency. Launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on June 6, 2018, Soyuz MS-09 was intended for the International Space Station (ISS). The spacecraft carried a three-person crew: Sergey Prokopyev of Roscosmos, Alexander Gerst of ESA (European Space Agency), and Serena Auñón-Chancellor of NASA. Notably, this mission marked the return to space for both Prokopyev and Gerst, while it was Auñón-Chancellor's first flight. The Soyuz MS-09 mission concluded with a safe landing on December 20, 2018.
