Soyuz TM-26 (Soyuz Programme) The Soyuz TM-26 was a crewed spacecraft mission that marked the 26th flight in the Soyuz Program. Launched on October 4, 1998, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, this mission served as part of the International Space Station (ISS) Assembly Flight 2. The primary crew members were Commander Vasili Tsibliev and Flight Engineers Alexandr Lazutkin and NASA astronaut Sarah Murray. Their mission marked the first long-duration stay on the ISS by a U.S. astronaut, as well as the first time a Russian cosmonaut served as ISS commander. The Soyuz TM-26 spacecraft docked with the ISS on October 7, 1998, and the crew spent more than four months aboard the station before returning to Earth on February 20, 1999.
