Soyuz TM-3 (Soyuz Space Programme) Frosted Pint Glass 16oz

This design commemorates Soyuz TM-3, the July 1987 Soviet flight that carried the first Syrian cosmonaut to the Mir space station.

Visual Elements & Composition

Red is the dominant colour, with a warm white ground, blue and a touch of brown. The figures are rendered in a photographic style with a 1980s colour treatment. The lettering carries the composition: М. ФАРИС and SYRIA name the Syrian cosmonaut, А. ВИКТОРЕНКО and A. VIKTORENKO name the commander, and МИР and CCCP mark the station and the Soviet programme.

Meaning & Symbolism

Soyuz TM-3 launched on 22 July 1987 with a crew of three, including commander Aleksandr Viktorenko and flight engineer Muhammad Faris, the first Syrian cosmonaut. The spacecraft docked with Mir, where the crew carried out a crew rotation and delivered supplies. The mission belongs to the early years of Mir's long-duration presence in low Earth orbit. The Intercosmos programme that brought Faris into orbit sent cosmonauts from allied nations into Soviet spaceflight, and the design honours that cooperation.

Holding the Mission on a Pint

A pint glass is a tall, curved surface, so the crew portraits and the lettering wrap around the vessel and come into view as the glass turns in the hand. The frosted finish keeps the red field rich and holds the Cyrillic and Latin names in an even tone across the curve.

Frosted pint glass (16 oz / ≈0.47 L) with a soft matte finish and semi-translucent, one-sided print. Tough enough for bar and restaurant use, dishwasher safe, and BPA-free — a modern take on classic pintware.

These pints are mouth-blown-style glass finished with a satin frost that mutes glare and gives art a soft, tactile presence. The print sits atop the frosted surface to create a semi-see-through effect — the look subtly shifts depending on lighting and what's poured inside.

Because the print is slightly translucent, pale drinks let more light through and darker pours create stronger contrast. That interplay gives each serving a small visual surprise — useful in hospitality settings or retail displays where the drink and the glass play off each other.

  • Material: 100% glass with a matte, frosted finish for a low-reflective, premium feel.
  • Capacity: 16 oz (standard U.S. pint, ≈0.47 L).
  • Print: one-sided wraparound, semi-translucent finish that changes with light and liquid.
  • Care: dishwasher-safe for everyday service (see Care tab for tips).
  • Use cases: retail shelves, bar service, event glassware, or merch racks — suitable for single units or larger orders.

These glasses work well for chilled beers, craft pours, iced cocktails and cold brew — anywhere you want an elegant, understated presentation. The frosted surface hides minor fingerprints and softens the silhouette of the drink inside.

  1. Serve: fill with cold beverages; the semi-translucent print will interact with the drink color for subtle variation.
  2. Display: stack or line them on back bar shelving where soft lighting emphasizes the frosted texture.
  3. Stocking: sell individually or as a set; their neutral look fits many menu styles and venue aesthetics.

Tip: if you plan themed pours (pale ales, lagers, dark stouts), test a sample to see how each drink’s hue changes the printed artwork’s visibility.

Dishwasher-safe for routine cleaning — use a standard household cycle and avoid very high-heat commercial programs when possible. Placing glasses mouth-down on the rack reduces risk of chipping during wash cycles.

For best longevity, hand-wash with warm water and mild detergent and dry immediately with a lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive scouring pads and harsh chemical cleaners that can dull the frosted finish or wear printed areas over time.
