Soyuz TM-6 (Soyuz Programme) The Soyuz TM-6 was a crewed spaceflight mission launched as part of the Soyuz program. It marked the sixth flight of the Soyuz TM variant and the ninth mission to the Mir space station. This particular mission carried the first French astronaut, Jean-Pierre Haigneré, to orbit alongside Soviet cosmonauts Gennady Strekalov and Yuri Malyshev. Launched on October 30, 1988, Soyuz TM-6 docked with Mir on November 2, 1988, and returned to Earth on December 17, 1988. The mission was significant in furthering international cooperation in space exploration during the late Cold War era.
