Soyuz TM-7 (Soyuz Programme) The Soyuz TM-7 was a crewed spaceflight mission that took place under the Soyuz program, a human spaceflight program developed by the Soviet Union and later Russia. Launched on April 26, 1986, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, Soyuz TM-7 carried a three-person crew to the Mir space station. The mission is noteworthy for marking the debut of the upgraded Soyuz TM spacecraft, which replaced the previous Soyuz T series and provided significant improvements in comfort, safety, and operational capabilities. Upon successful docking on April 28, the Soyuz TM-7 crew joined the resident Mir crew to begin their long-duration stay aboard the space station. The mission returned to Earth on October 10, 1986, marking the completion of a six-month mission under the Soyuz program.
