The Soyuz TMA-04M was a manned spacecraft flight under the Soyuz Programme, a human space transportation system operated by Roscosmos, Russia's space agency. This particular mission marked the 45th expedition to the International Space Station (ISS). Launched on December 21, 2011, from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, it carried three crew members: Commander Anton Shkaplerov, Flight Engineer Anatoly Ivanishin, and Flight Engineer Dan Burbank of NASA. The mission concluded successfully with a landing back on Earth on May 16, 2012. The Soyuz TMA-04M's primary objective was to deliver the crew members safely to the ISS, as well as transport supplies and equipment for ongoing scientific research and maintenance activities.
