The Soyuz TMA-1 was a mission under Russia's Soyuz space program, which primarily focuses on crewed flights to and from the International Space Station (ISS). Launched on April 28, 2001, Soyuz TMA-1 marked the resumption of human spaceflight operations from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan following a brief suspension. The mission carried a three-person crew, including Yuri Gidzenko (Commander), Sergei Krikalev (Flight Engineer), and Cady Coleman (First American woman to fly on a Russian spacecraft). Soyuz TMA-1 docked with the ISS on April 30, 2001, and remained attached until June 26, when it undocked and returned safely to Earth. The mission concluded with a landing in Kazakhstan.
