The Soyuz TMA-1 was a mission under Russia's Soyuz space program, which primarily focuses on crewed flights to and from the International Space Station (ISS). Launched on April 28, 2001, Soyuz TMA-1 marked the resumption of human spaceflight operations from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan following a brief suspension. The mission carried a three-person crew, including Yuri Gidzenko (Commander), Sergei Krikalev (Flight Engineer), and Cady Coleman (First American woman to fly on a Russian spacecraft).
