The Soyuz TMA-12 was a flight of the Russian Soyuz program, which is an internationally crewed human spaceflight spacecraft designed to transport cosmonauts and astronauts to and from the International Space Station (ISS). Launched on December 15, 2010, Soyuz TMA-12 carried three crew members: two Russians, Dmitry Kondratyev and Sergey Volkov, and an American astronaut, Catherine Coleman. This mission marked the 34th manned flight of the Soyuz spacecraft to the ISS as part of the continuous presence of a crew on the station since November 2000. The Soyuz TMA-12 spacecraft returned to Earth safely on May 27, 2011, landing in a remote area of Kazakhstan, completing its mission and marking the conclusion of Expedition 25/26 to the ISS.
