A pentagonal route shield in flat black and white, carrying the letters SP above the number 773.
Visual Elements & Composition
White covers around four-fifths of the artwork, with black used for the shield's nested outline and the lettering. The pentagon is drawn twice, once as a broad border and once as an inner edge, which gives the badge a stepped, stamped quality. "SP" sits in a smaller line at the top and "773" fills the lower half in bold numerals. Everything is centred and flat, with no shading to pull attention away from the code.
Meaning & Symbolism
A route shield exists to be read quickly from a moving vehicle, and this one follows that rule. The letters SP are the state prefix and 773 is the route number, so the badge identifies one road within a regional network. The series naming behind SP-773 places it among other Brazilian road-marker designs, and the shape alone signals the wayfinding purpose the piece is built around.
In the Hand
A mug is turned and lifted many times a day, so the shield will be seen from more than one angle. The sharp points of the pentagon and the thick numerals hold their shape well on a curved surface. Wrapped around the cup, the nested outline reads as a clean emblem, something that catches the eye at the start of a morning and again at the bottom of the cup.
