A pentagonal route marker reading SP 845 in black, with an inner border, sits alone on a white field.
Visual Elements & Composition
This is a two-tone flat vector piece: white covers nearly all of the surface, and black draws the sign. The pentagon is the main shape, with a second, inset outline giving the edge a double line. The letters SP stack above the numerals 845, set in the same heavy black weight so the marker is legible at a glance. The design is centred with a wide margin, and nothing else appears to compete with the sign.
Meaning & Symbolism
SP is the prefix for state roads in São Paulo, the largest state in Brazil by population, and the number 845 places this sign on one route within that system. The pentagonal marker is a familiar navigation symbol, and here it points directly to Brazil. It stands as a tribute to the roads that link the country's cities and towns.
Held and Turned
A mug is turned in the hand while it is drunk from, so the pentagon moves across your view with each turn. Black on white holds its contrast from the desk or the counter, and the curved wall of the mug carries the marker around the whole body of the cup, as a route sign would sit on a roadside post.
