Texas 44-D (Texas) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A square white marker with a thin black border carries the word TEXAS across the top and a large black 44-D across the centre, a sign for a branch route from the 1920s and 1930s.

Visual Elements & Composition

The design is a flat, two-tone vector, with white covering most of the surface. The thin black border frames the square, and the block lettering is the only artwork on it. TEXAS sits small across the top, while the number and suffix dominate the middle, so the sign reads in a clear top-to-bottom order. There is no decoration beyond the border and the type.

Meaning & Symbolism

State Highway 44 was one of the first routes in the Texas network, running east to west across South Texas. The letter suffix -D marked a short spur or alternate branching from that parent road, a convention the state used through the 1920s and 1940s. Branches like this were later renumbered into loops, spurs and farm-to-market roads, so 44-D is a route that no longer exists. The sign keeps that early system in view.

On the Shot Glass

A shot glass is a close-up object, and this sign suits that scale: the black type reads clearly at arm’s length, and the border gives the square a crisp edge against the glass. Held in the hand or set on a shelf, it works as a small piece of roadside history rather than a loud print.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
