Texas 71-F (Texas) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A stripped-back route shield in white and black, with TEXAS across the top and a bold 71 filling the centre, drawn in the plain style of Texas highway signs from the 1930s.

Visual Elements & Composition

The square is mostly white, rimmed by a heavy black border that gives the shield its weight. Black block letters name the state along the upper edge, and the route number is set large and central, so nothing competes with it. The shapes are simple and rounded at the corners, rendered as flat vector. The composition relies on contrast alone, which is why the numerals hold up well at small scale.

Meaning & Symbolism

In the 1920s through the 1940s Texas attached letter suffixes to spur and branch routes, and 71-F was one of these short connectors off the main Highway 71 corridor that ran from the Hill Country toward the coast. The suffix was recorded in the Highway Department's route logs and maps for administrative clarity, not printed on the roadside, so drivers saw an ordinary 71 sign. The design preserves that gap between bureaucratic record and everyday road, a route that existed on paper and was otherwise invisible to travellers.

Close to the Eye

A shot glass is small and held close, so the shield is taken in at arm's length, with the bold numerals reading clearly through the clear glass. The compact 1.5oz form is well suited to a stark, graphic image, and the route number gives a quiet point of interest on a home bar or a travel shelf.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
