Texas 7B 1917 (Texas) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A black-and-white state highway shield that places the designation 7B at its centre, marking a branch of the original Texas route network.

Visual Elements & Composition

Black and white make up nearly the whole design, with white dominating the field. The numerals 7B sit at the centre of the sign and are the first thing the eye finds. The words STATE and HIGHWAY run above and below them, so the piece reads as a roadside marker rather than a decorative badge. The outline follows the shape of the state, and the flat vector finish keeps every edge sharp.

Meaning & Symbolism

The 1917 Texas Highway Commission laid out a trunk system in which lettered branches connected smaller towns to the main numbered routes. The 7B spur ran from Center to San Augustine in East Texas, branching from State Highway 7 to keep San Augustine linked to the wider network. The sign's state-shaped outline names Texas plainly, and the lettered branch shows how the early system organised local access. Many of these spurs were absorbed or dropped when the 1930s renumbering simplified the state's signage.

Close Up on the Glass

A shot glass brings the sign within easy reach, so the 7B is read at a few inches while the glass is held or turned. The state outline meets the curve of the wall, and the centred numerals stay upright whichever way the glass is set down. It is a small, close-reading piece of Texas road history for a glass that is passed across the bar.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
