Texas 98 1917 (Texas) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A stark black-and-white marker for Texas State Highway 98, drawn from the state's 1917 route plan.

Visual Elements & Composition

Black and white are the only colours, with white taking the larger share of the face. A five-pointed star sits within a circular badge, and the badge is set inside a square frame. The words STATE and HIGHWAY surround the route number 98, which is set in bold, block-like numerals and carries the weight of the design. Nothing decorative competes with the number, so the sign reads at a glance.

Meaning & Symbolism

The 1917 plan set out an early statewide network of numbered highways, and Route 98 was proposed to link Clarksville and Avery in Red River County, in the north-east of the state. Many routes from that first plan existed largely on paper at first, so the sign records an ambition as much as a road. The star and badge give the marker its emblematic, heraldic tone, and the plain numerals show how practical early road identification was.

Made for This Glass

On a shot glass, the sign is seen up close, and the bold route number is the first thing the eye finds as the glass is lifted. The star sits at the top of the badge, where it catches the light as the glass is turned.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
