US 16 MN 1961 (Minnesota) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design shows the U.S. Route 16 shield in the Minnesota road-sign style of 1961, a black numeral set in a white shield.

Visual Elements & Composition

The artwork is monochrome, with white making up around three-fifths of the surface and black forming the border, the lettering and the numerals. The rounded-square shield occupies the centre, and the figures 1 and 6 sit large within it. The flat treatment is clean and without ornament, so the route number reads first and the shape second.

Meaning & Symbolism

U.S. Route 16 crossed southern Minnesota as a major highway through the mid-century years. When the Interstate system arrived, much of the route was decommissioned, and the surviving stretch between Dexter and La Crescent became Minnesota State Highway 16. The shield stands for the era when U.S. highways were the main arteries of cross-country travel, before the Interstates reshaped the map. The 1961 date fixes the sign in that period.

On the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held close, so the shield is seen at arm's length and turned slowly in the hand. The black numerals show through the clear glass, and the simple shape stays legible from any side as the glass is lifted and set back down.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
