US 2 MN 1961 (Minnesota) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design reproduces a 1961-era U.S. Route 2 highway marker as it appeared on Minnesota roads, a small piece of mid-century traffic signage rendered in strict black and white.

Visual Elements & Composition

White fills most of the field, with black carrying the rest of the design. The route marker is a flat vector shield with a rounded-square outline, and the numeral 2 sits centred inside it, large and unmistakable. Nothing decorative competes with it. The layout is pared back to contrast and proportion, so the shape of the shield and the weight of the numeral do all the work, the way they would on a roadside post.

Meaning & Symbolism

The shield tells a driver which federal highway they are on, while the number identifies the route itself. U.S. Route 2 was established as part of the U.S. Numbered Highway system in 1926 and runs east to west across the northern part of Minnesota, from the North Dakota border near East Grand Forks through Duluth. The 1961 date marks a specific stretch of standardised sign styling that the state used to keep route guidance consistent for travellers of that decade.

Built for the Bar Cart

A shot glass is small and held close, so a marker this graphic works well at that scale. The bold black shield reads clearly from the rim of a 1.5oz glass, and each pour brings the old road sign into the hand of whoever is holding it.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
