US 9E NY Old (New York) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

A white shield bearing the figures 9E and the words NEW YORK records a highway designation that was retired in the early 1930s.

Visual Elements & Composition

The design is a flat vector graphic with white as the dominant tone and black used only for the shield's outline and lettering. The shield has a rounded outline, and the numerals 9E sit at its centre, the E carrying the suffix that set this route apart. The letters U S appear above the figures, and NEW YORK is set as a banner across the top. Nothing else is in the frame, so the route number is the focal point.

Meaning & Symbolism

US 9E was an alternate branch of U.S. Route 9 in New York, marked with the E suffix to show that it followed an eastern alignment. In the state's 1930 renumbering the designation was dropped, and the section south of East Greenbush became part of US 9 itself. The route followed the old Albany Post Road corridor, one of the north-south paths that shaped travel along the Hudson. The sign now stands for a short-lived road that existed for only a few years before its number was retired.

Fitted to the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and is held close, so a shield with a short run of figures is a good match for its size. The black lettering shows clearly through the clear glass, and the design keeps its shape from any side. Raise the glass and the number sits right in view, which is the way a route marker was meant to be read by someone passing it at the roadside.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
