The U.S. Marine Corps Forces Atlantic (USMC) is one of the two geographically-aligned forces within the United States Marine Corps, alongside the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific. It serves under the command of the Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command. Its area of primary responsibility spans the North Atlantic Ocean and Europe, including the Mediterranean Sea. The USMC's main roles are to conduct joint operations, provide crisis response forces, maintain regional defense partnerships, and deter potential threats in its area of operations. This force also supports contingency operations worldwide when required by the Commander-in-Chief, U.S. Marine Corps.
