The USS Simon Bolivar SSBN 641 was a nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine operated by the United States Navy. Commissioned on August 30, 1963, it was named after Venezuelan revolutionary Simón Bolívar and was part of the Ethan Allen class of submarines. With a length of approximately 427 feet and a displacement of about 8,250 tons submerged, the USS Simon Bolivar was designed to carry up to 16 Polaris A-3 missiles, each equipped with multiple nuclear warheads.
