WA-SSH1-R (Washington) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

An old-style road sign in black and white, its vertical panel holding a male head in profile, the word WASHINGTON, and the numeral 1 with the letter R.

Visual Elements & Composition

The sign is a two-colour design: black covers the larger part of the panel, and white is used for the wording and the inner line. The shape is a vertical rounded rectangle, framed by a double border that follows the edge. The profile silhouette is solid and uninterrupted, sitting in the upper portion of the panel. WASHINGTON is set in plain capitals across the middle, and the 1 and the R stand together below it. The layout is symmetrical and restrained, with each element given room to read clearly.

Meaning & Symbolism

The marker belongs to a Secondary State Highway branch, the R spur of Secondary State Highway 1, used in Washington's numbering system from 1937 until the statewide renumbering of 1964. The system separated primary and secondary routes, and the 1 shows the link back to Primary State Highway 1. Those route codes were phased out around 1970, so the sign now stands for a short-lived administrative network, a record of how the state once organised its roads.

Sized for the Shot Glass

A shot glass is small and held up to the eye for a quick pour, so the bold black panel and white lettering come through clearly at close range. The narrow, upright sign suits the slim outline of the glass, and the profile keeps its shape as the glass is turned in the hand.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
