WA-SSH1-X (Washington) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This is a black-on-white route marker in the style Washington used for its secondary highways before 1964, with a profile of the state's namesake at its centre.

Visual Elements & Composition

The sign is built from two flat tones, with black taking up around six-tenths of the field. A vertical rectangle with rounded corners forms the shield, and a double-line border follows its edge. The male profile faces left, its long hair drawn in a single clean silhouette. The numeral 1, the letter X and the word WASHINGTON are the only lettering. Nothing is shaded or textured, so the image depends on the strength of its outline.

Meaning & Symbolism

Each element of the code carries a meaning. SSH stands for Secondary State Highway, the 1 shows that the route branched from Primary State Highway 1, and the X is a suffix that set this branch apart from its neighbours. Washington used this system from 1937 until the 1964 renumbering replaced it with the State Route numbers still in use. The profile honours the state's namesake and ties the road network to Washington's identity. A sign like this now records a bygone system of transport planning more than a live route.

Viewing From Close Range

A shot glass is small and is lifted to the lips, so the design is seen from only a few inches away. At that range the hard black field and the profile stay easy to read. The X and the numeral sit large enough to hold the eye through the curve of the glass before the drink is taken.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
