Wayne County 254 NY blade sign (New York) (Road Sign) White Coffee Mug

A deep green rounded-rectangle sign with white type that carries the county route number 254 and the words Lake Bluff.

Visual Elements & Composition

Green covers nearly the entire surface, and white is kept for the lettering alone. The rounded rectangle is the sole shape, a simple outline that frames the text. The words LAKE and BLUFF stand over the abbreviation CR and the numeral 254, arranged so the place name is read first. The result is a flat, legible layout with nothing added beyond the type.

Meaning & Symbolism

Blade signs have long pointed travellers and shoppers toward a place, and this one takes that role for Wayne County in New York. The CR tag marks a county road, and the number 254 identifies the route within the local network. Together they make a plain statement about a community and the roads that connect its villages and lakes.

Life on the Mug

A mug is turned in the hand, so the sign rotates into view a little at a time, with the place name surfacing first and the route number following. The white ceramic ground lets the deep green panel read clearly, and the sign sits at eye level when the mug is raised for a morning coffee.
