WIS 28 1919 (Wisconsin) (Road Sign) Shot Glass 1.5oz

This design shows the Wisconsin State Trunk Highway 28 marker of 1919, a square sign set on its point with the state code above a large route number.

Visual Elements & Composition

The artwork is a flat black-and-white graphic, with a plain white ground enclosed by a thick black outline. The square is turned on its point, so the sign reads as a diamond. The word WIS sits across the upper portion, and the numeral 28 fills the centre in heavy black figures, which carry the composition.

Meaning & Symbolism

Route 28 was one of Wisconsin's original State Trunk Highways, laid out between 1918 and 1919 as the state built its first numbered network. Parts of the route were realigned when the U.S. Highway System arrived in 1926, but the road itself still runs today from Mayville to Sheboygan. The diamond-on-point style was used from 1918 to 1926, before Wisconsin moved to the cut-out shield in 1927, which makes this an early marker from the foundation of the state's routing.

In the Hand, Up Close

A shot glass is small and held close, so the diamond sign is taken in at arm's length as the glass is raised. The bold numeral is the first thing the eye lands on, with the thick outline keeping the shape crisp at that scale.

Compact, heavy-based shot glasses made from clear, restaurant-grade glass. One standard size (1.5 oz / ≈44.3 ml) — sturdy, stack-friendly, and built to handle frequent service without fuss.

These shot glasses feel solid in the hand thanks to a thick, weighty base that keeps them steady on busy bar tops. The walls are even and clear, giving a nice, unobstructed view of the pour; the rim is smoothed for comfortable sipping.

They’re engineered for regular use: consistent dimensions, dependable weight, and a simple silhouette that suits both casual venues and more formal tasting counters. Designed to perform rather than show off.

  • Material: 100% clear glass for pure clarity and clean presentation.
  • Capacity: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml) — standard shot measure.
  • Base: heavy solid glass base that reduces tipping and improves balance.
  • Construction: restaurant-grade durability for frequent handling and washing.
  • Print-ready: suitable for single-sided print applications that withstand typical use.

Perfect for quick pours, samplers, and neat shots. Their compact footprint makes them easy to place on trays and tasting lines, while the heavier base keeps things steady during service.

  1. Bar service: quick, consistent pours — less wobble when carrying a tray of shots.
  2. Tastings: uniform size is handy for sampling flights or spirit tastings.
  3. Events: robust enough for pop-ups, festivals, and busy bartending shifts.

Storage tip: store upright and avoid tight stacking to protect rims and preserve clarity.

Dishwasher-safe for everyday cleaning — place on the top rack and use a normal household cycle. Repeated exposure to very high commercial temperatures can shorten glass life, so choose gentler programs where practical.

When you want to extend clarity and finish: hand-wash with warm water, a mild detergent, and a soft cloth; dry right away to avoid water spots. Handle by the body (not the rim) to reduce accidental chipping.

One size only: 1.5 oz (≈44.3 ml). Use the dimensions below for shelving, packaging, or tray planning.
