The X Corps was a United States Marine Corps unit established during the Korean War. Initially formed in July 1950, it served as a combined arms task force under the I Corps of the U.S. Army's Eighth Army. The Corps was primarily responsible for the defense and development of South Korea's eastern seaboard, including the Pusan Perimeter during the early stages of the Korean War. Despite its disbandment in 1954 following the armistice, the X Corps played a crucial role in various operations during the conflict, such as the Inchon Landing and the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir. The unit's unique structure allowed for rapid deployment and response to emerging threats, making it an important part of the U.S. military's adaptive strategy in Korea.
